Deepest Sympathy to Chris, John and Phil at the loss of your mum and condolences to all the Whittle family including her many treasured grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley’s passing is the end of many lovely shared meals, surrounded by the beautiful trees, gardens, birds and the lake, that she loved so much. Corinne, David and Katherine

Deepest sympathies to Phil, his brothers and sisters, Justine and family. Shirley was a warm, giving and effervescent mum. She always welcomed Phil’s mates to Hawk’s Hill. Everyone was welcome. Rest in Peace.

So many fond & fun memories! Attending the Yalgoo Centenary with us swagging it & Shirley sleeping across the back seat. Camping in the Kimberley with the kids all falling asleep to the soft tones of Shirley telling Muzza her life story over a bottle of wine under the stars. Climbing up through the gorges with Shirley swimming below in the clear blue pools between the fern covered gorge walls. So hospitable at Hawks Hill every time I turned up in the big smoke. Sharing her ‘family’ Subaru won for a $1 raffle ticket bought the day before! Always writing & drawing. Received great letters from Shirley always with a humorous sketch or three.
I will be forever grateful to Shirley & Bert & family for sharing their beautiful garden home, the china & the artworks, the peacocks, bottlebrushes & roses, the studio & the boathouse. Truly an end of an era.
Love to you all. Wendy
