Bhaskaran Family
A great loss to the family which can never be replaced. He was a lovely man and a man who would help anyone who he met. A selfless human who was loved by people who knew him.
May his souls rest in peace and May his memories stay alive with all who has crossed paths with him.
I first met Sankaran in 1983 on St George’s Tce Perth. I have many fond memories with him particularly discussions on politics and religion whilst enjoying his famous Teh Tareh.
Rest in Peace Sankaran.
My wife, daughter and I met Sankaran by chance in 1999 when my daughter was studying in Perth. In no time he became a family member.I would call him for any help and he came running. He loved to help people and it was always unconditional. A man ahead of his time
He was a son of migrants who had moved to Malaya under difficult circumstances, only to be worsened by the Second World War. As a teenager, he worked for the naval service of the British empire, based in Singapore. Eventually, through hard work and determination, he worked his way to a highly rated position. His endurance and sheer perseverance stood out against others.
He grew up in a community of migrants, akin to his parents, who also had very little growing up.
The environment he was presented with was challenging, and opportunities were scarce. Despite being deprived of education and wealth, he was always helpful to his close community. He had ambition to progress and prosper, and never shied away from sharing that drive within his community.
He has touched many lives, despite his stern demeanour, and never once stinged on giving advice, encouragement, and support.
He crossed milestones and attained heights only a few managed from his era.
Gone, but never forgotten.
Rest well, Uncle Sankaran
Uncle loves socializing with people. He was such a selfless man who touched so many lives. He was very attentive and would listen to everyone’s problems and offer solutions to them. Fortunately, he was remarkably intelligent and filled with wisdom and anyone could always count on him.
When Uncle visits Malaysia, he would always visit us. He was my Acha’s best friend. And he’ll tell me to take the week off to drive him around. On our road trips, we’ll find the best Indian restaurant and he’ll order 2 pratas, 2 Dosas and 2 mugs of tea, piping hot. I missed all those times.
Uncle also loved fashion and he was always well dressed whenever we met. Uncle will forever remain an award-winning uncle, and I will always remember him as a second father. He is one of the reasons I turned out to be a hardworking man. He might be gone, but his legacy lives on in the many lives he affected, especially mine.
A man with an endless passion for everything he did and a mind as sharp as a chef’s knife, he did everything on his own and never let himself plunge into a pit of despondence no matter the circumstances. Uncle, may your soul rest in peace. Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart, your memory lives within me, forever in my heart, uncle.
Our deepest condolences and may the almighty bless him with peace.
