Sorry you have moved on but you have left your mark within the Australian Bonsai scene for ever. I will miss your honesty and no bullshit attitude

I was lucky enough to meet Derek when I was visiting W A. Family when over from the UK. My family took me to Serpentine and Derek kindly suggested. He took me back to see his bonsai trees.
We were then to be Facebook friends for many years, we kept in touch on messenger we would laugh, support each other and I was privileged to see photos of a special newborn via messenger and when the bonsai stamps were produced, Derek kindly filled in messages on bonsai stamp postcards for my great grandees that I had sent to him.
I will miss you Derek, that’s for sure but memories will keep you close. I thank you for your friendship over the years
