We were both in tears watching the funeral today: we're all so lucky to have been touched by Carol and have her as a part of our lives. She is now at rest but her spirit lives on in all our memories and in her family.
With all love from us in the UK xx

Our hearts are aching for the pain of your loss, but we know Carol is with us eternally in her spirit and love. We have been truly blessed by Carol's magical power of care, kindness and love over many, many years. We have so missed having Carol in the neighbourhood for the past 8 months or so, but we're so glad that she was such a huge part of our neighbourhood for the past 20 or so years. Bones, you put up such an inspiring fight, but alas God has taken you to join the Holy Choir. So very glad we got the opportunity to see you (and of course Sharky) here in Joburg recently. Even though you were suffering, you looked and acted as if nothing was wrong... We hope the family you left behind will remember only the good times (of which there were many!) With much love to Sharky & the 'kids' - you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Hamba Kahle, Bones

Dear Sharky, Brad, Jack & Adam.. all our love to you all on the passing of Bones. Sharkey & Bones - we have know you guys since 1988 in the UK. Zim 1 as Sharky was referred to... Even though you ended up in Perth and us in Sydney, somehow we have managed to keep in touch and bump into each other over the years. Especially on our most recent visit in mid 2022.
We will never forget the crazy time when you all came to stay with us in Sydney for the Olympic in 2000. The boys were little and with endless playing and the occasional minor injury I will always remember Bones casually glancing across the boys in a tangle of arms, legs and protests and smirking : "if there is no blood then I'm not interested" but we all new that she new exactly what was going on ready for a strong word, band aide and a hug.
It was an honor to be part of the live stream of Carol's farewell, which we watched today through tears and smiles of joy in remembrance and admiration for an amazing human being and a life well lived.

All our love and sincere condolences.
Mick, Laura & Cadence

BONES
A light, a voice gone still,
A space remains, a heart to fill.
We gather here, in memory's embrace,
To share the laughter, the warmth of your face.
Though tears may fall, and sorrow may sting,
Your spirit soars, on freedom's wing.
In the whispers of the wind, the sun's golden rays,
Your memory lives on, to brighten our day.
We'll miss your presence, your laughter, your smile,
The way you lit up every room for a while.
But though you've departed, from this earthly shore,
The love and the joy you shared, will forevermore
Live on in our hearts, a treasure we hold,
A story untold, yet often retold.
In the stars that shine bright, in the crashing of waves,
A reminder you're with us, beyond the grave.
So rest now, dear friend, your journey complete,
Though our loss is profound, your memory is sweet.

Fly free. Fly. Fly. Fly... xxx

Dear Carol, my lovely friend through my other lovely friend Pixie, we only really got to know each other these past 6 months, a time, you were at your lowest ebb. But we laughed, we cried, we shared stories through a common thread, life in Zimbabwe, Australia and our beautiful friend, Pixie and Carol, you were such a remarkable lady in every way as a wife, a mum, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a nurse. You spoke of more travel, Thailand, Belgium, those place held a special place in your heart too and two weeks ago just simply wishing to take Pixie and I, out for tea and cake with you when you were due to go home. In good time my dear friend, beautiful Carol, in another world, we shall do all these things and eat cake too. Love to Mike, Adam, Jack and family for your heart breaking loss

Nearly 34 years ago I first met Carol/Bones. She and Sharky were engaged and living in the UK. She was like a breath of fresh air and full of fun. One anecdote I remember was her telling of nursing rounds visiting new babies and the surprise visiting a rock star's twin babies who were dressed in black Babygros 😄
Many years later we met a few more times in Brisbane and Perth. She always made you feel as if you'd known her all your life and would light up a room with her warmth and wit. She touched many lives and is unforgettable.
Wishing Sharky, Brad, Jack , Tegan and Adam condolences.
RIP Carol 💖

*Out of the ordinary with oodles of mischievous fun & infectious laughter.
*so Loved by Mike, Brad, Jack & Tegan , Adam, family & friends, and loved life to the fullest with all of us.

We met when we were ten.
I soon found out that you did not experience our world with your brain but through your heart.
What your heart saw your mouth said.
As teenagers we rode horses, shared heart aches and waxed each others legs.
And when things became a little tough, your chin jutted out ever so slightly and then you piled into the obstacle.
Stay beautiful.

To all of Carol’s family and friends my sincere condolences on the loss of a beautiful lady who was quick witted and genuinely kind.
I will always remember with fondness working with her at Wembley and FSH. She was one of those nurses you wanted to be in the trenches with. She truly cared about her patients and her knowledge was amazing.
A sad loss to the nursing profession.
Farewell you can rest easy now.
