Olive was my cousin., the daughter of my mother's eldest brother. While we were living in Victoria and Olive in Western Australia, interaction was limited. However, distance was never a barrier. Together we were in the bridal party for the wedding of her brother, Ray's wedding in January 1956. When we returned to Western Australia, our families were very much more involved. I have wonderful memories of sharing duties with Olive when shearing contractors were at Jim and Olive's farm, but not with any cook of their own! We met in strange places (like Derby) on our caravan trips. Together Jim and with my husband, Roley, we shared a very memorable trip along the Gibb River Road in 1993. Over the earlier years we made trips to visit Jim and Olive on the farm, and when they retired to Kinross, we alternated train trips and overnight stays, as we were in the southern suburbs. Our deepest sympathy to Helen and Mervyn and his family. Olive was one of a kind, a very special person, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
