Dear Lee: we met one night by chance a decade ago while out walking our dogs and soon became friends. You were fond of my white dog, Sam. When I lost my cat, George, you sent a consoling email: "you were blessed to have two very special animal companions. Reminds me of the song lines: 'somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good.' And you must have to have found your two friends. I am thinking of you and have revisited the photograph you gave me of Sam. What a beautiful friend too." Lee, we were both committed to our four-legged friends. You once wrote: "for us they want for nothing, spiritually or physically. It is hard letting go - but try for your own healing sake. I once read that grieving is about ourselves - our loss and that we need to try and find the peace that we wanted for our loved ones." I'm sure you would give us all who the same advice today. Lee, you were a beautiful friend too. Thank you for being such a good neighbour. Fondest memories, Michael Cook Gardens 1/5 Park Road
