I may have only met you once in person but you have been a big part of my life and the lasting memories will always stay with me, put kettle on lass and let’s have a brew. You have been a massive part of Tony’s life and for that I thank you 😊 xx

Heart felt condolences Gail to you and your family. I knew Laurie for over 60 years and we stayed good friends all that time. Laurie had a great sense of humour. First and foremost though was his love for his family.
Laurie was a very caring man when we were young men we caught the same bus to work, Laurie going to Royton me Rochdale. Laurie waited everyday for a blind man to make sure he got to work and home, that was another side to Laurie.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. I have some of the best memories. R.I.P Best Buddy. Yours Sincerely Smithy x

We first met Larry in 1976 when we worked together at Brownall’s Engineering in Royton - and what a character he was! During that time it became very clear that Larry was the type of person who would do you a good turn rather than a bad one. He was always a grafter and liked to get his work done, but at the same time had everyone in stitches with his wicked sense of humour! He literally was everyone’s friend and had a very caring nature coupled with a big heart of gold 💛
First and foremost with Larry was his family - he absolutely adored them all and would keep us up to date with what he’d been doing in Australia- he loved every minute and you knew nothing was more important than his family.
There will always be a special place in our hearts for you Larry and we thank you for the memories that you’ve left us.
Night, god bless - sleep well xx
