Dear Mary Ann,
My deepest condolences, thinking of you and family. I always have fond memories of Kar Teng as kind, funny, happy and always smiling. Rest in peace Kar Teng.
Dearest Auntie Maryann, Greg, Valencia and Claire
We were so sad to hear of Uncle Kar Teng's passing. He was a wonderful, kind man who will be remembered fondly.
I will treasure our memories of visits to Perth and Singapore along with your visits to the UK. But my favourite memories of Uncle Kar Teng involve him practicing the art of sneaking off to pay for restaurant meals before my dad!
I hope you can take some comfort in the knowledge that so many people loved him.
We love and miss you
Sarah, Giorgio, Billy and Lily x
Dearest Aunty Maryann, Greg, Poh & Jo- Deepest condolences on the passing of 9th uncle and also Blessed joy for he is now with the Lord. May he rest in peace now. What a beautiful life he’s had and his endearing faith in God has touched so many. My mum remembers 9th uncle as the little boy she first met in Anak Gasing, studying very hard at the long table. She says he was always very hardworking. We will always remember his smile and caring & jovial personality. With love from all of us and thinking of you all during this time xxxx
Dearest Aunty Mary Ann, Greg, Poh and Jo,
Our deepest condolences to your family on Uncle Kar Teng’s passing. It was a beautiful service today.
Uncle Kar Teng taught us more by the way he lived his life, putting God and family first. So many fond memories of Uncle Kar Teng and your family.

Dearest Aunty Mary-Ann, Greg, Poh Lin and Jo Lin,
Our sincere condolences for 9th Uncle Kauday's demise. May He rest in eternal peace now and that you will find solace in all the good memories and love of your family's presence.
I will always be grateful to Kauday's counsel, prayers and love especially during Joe's passing. It was also during that time I spent some quiet time with Kauday and got to know him better. He's a wonderful uncle to me.... so generous, kind, jovial and always preparing meals for me. I guess there will be a big reunion in Heaven with ah po, ah kong, your brothers, my mother and Joe.... i can already hear those boisterous laughter....you are definitely in a better place now...
Leng and family
Dearest Aunty Mary Ann, Gregory, Poh-Lin and Jo-Lin,
We are so sorry to know that Uncle Kar Teng (Uncle KT) has left us. We will miss him dearly, his often bubbly character, smile, laughter and up-beat personality, not to mention his kindness and giving nature.
Years ago, when I was about to embark on my undergraduate studies in Perth and Uncle KT knew I was going over, he did not hesitate to offer his home to me in Perth. I am eternally grateful and thankful for his gesture. He and Aunty Mary Ann richly blessed me and my family and left a deep legacy for us.
I was very privileged to share the space with Uncle KT’s family and he was always noted to be a very caring husband and a responsible father to his children, always willing to help around the house, chauffeured his young children to school and not forgetting, he was also a very good cook, excellent with his char kueh teow and Hokkien mee. Uncle KT was also active in sports and excel in badminton and table-tennis and I never ceased to look forward to have a friendly competition with him.
Our bond remained close even when I graduated and left Perth. We occasionally called each other and he was always happy to have a chat to know what was happening in my world. When my mom was ill and passed away in January 2021, Uncle KT supported me even-though he had his own challenges and we spoke and he encouraged me, after Mom’s passing. That was how considerate and caring Uncle KT was.
We know that Uncle KT is now spending eternity with Jesus and all his loved ones who went before him and Uncle KT is now rejoicing and is finally Home!
Death is not the end, it’s just the beginning of the real thing for us believers in Christ as Paul said in Philippians 1:21–23:
“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labour; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.”
As words of comfort, know that Jesus sees over grief and pain as He says “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
Till we meet again Uncle KT this is not a goodbye but we shall see you very soon again and to celebrate with you in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ! Enjoy the fruits of your labour, “Well done good and faithful servant”, says the Lord.
With much love Forever,
Tow Seng, Dorcas, Samuel and Elisha

Dear Uncle Kar Teng, your passing is a blow to my dad and us. You have always been such a cheerful and smiley uncle whenever we meet you. We stayed with you and aunty maryann some years back. Those were fun-times and you cooked a repertoire of different dishes - jokingly saying that you have enough recipes that you can cook to last one month :). Thank you for always being there to help my dad and us with anything. But we are happy to know that you are now in a happier place and with no pain. As one of our favourite uncle, you will be missed. Rest in Peace, Uncle Kar Teng. Li Ping & Siow Khoon
Dear Aunty Maryann, Greg, Po and Jo,
Our deepest condolences to the family on the passing of Uncle Kar Teng. His candid jokes make fond memories of the times we spent in Perth and in Singapore whenever our families caught up. His warm hospitality was always extended and we could always trust in him. Thank you for sharing him with us, and we miss him too. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and family, and we pray especially for peace and strength for us all.
Dearest Uncle Kar Teng
We were fortunate to have you with us for this lifetime, and we trust that we will be reunited in the next.
You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you have kept the faith.
Eternal rest, grant unto him Oh Lord
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen.

Dear Aunty Mary Ann, Greg, Poh & Jo, please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of uncle Kar Teng, our 9th uncle or affectionately known as “Kau Day” in our hainan dialect. I will always remember him as being jovial and happy go lucky. I can still remember when I was little, both 8th and 9th uncle used to play the guitar and sing in the evenings outside anak gasing with some of their friends. Those were fond memories. I last saw 9th uncle during CNY21 and sometime later at Livingstone SC and he was still in good spirit. He was strong and fought hard to try and beat the scourge of his illness to the very end. He is now at peace with no more pain and with his siblings KW, KH, KY & Timai as well as with Ah Kong and Ah Poh. RIP “Kau Day” - will always remember you, from Eng, Jane, Lauren & Charlotte
To Mary Ann and family, deepest condolences for your loss. I've missed seeing Mr Chew on his walks and his friendly smile and little chats we have when we pass each other. I pray God's peace and comfort fill your hearts and your love and memories of each other strengthen you from within.
Dearest Aunt Maryann, Greg, Po Lin and Jo Lin,
Our deepest sympathy to you and family on the demise of Uncle Kar Teng.
I will always remember Uncle Kar Teng as a kind-hearted, jovial, happy go lucky and a very approachable person.
I remembered during my Uni days in Perth, uncle will always call me to come over for dinner. I am always looking forward and excited as I will get to hear uncle's jokes and not forgetting meeting up with aunt Maryann and my cousins.
It was a really wonderful experience during those years in Perth.
May God bless Uncle Kar Teng !
Take care Aunt Mary Ann, Greg, Po Lin and Jo Lin.

Dearest Uncle Kar Teng,
Thank you very much for being a wonderful Uncle to all of us. You will always be remembered for your generosity, jovial demeanour, positive outlook, kind heart, and strong faith in the Lord. You are the embodiment of how one should lead our lives – love our family and loved ones unconditionally and be steadfast in our faith.
My family and I will always treasure the wonderful moments and time we spent with you. Our children and us remembered with fond memories your wonderful culinary skills, jokes and wonderful places of interest that you brought us around in Perth. You and your family were generous in hosting us whenever we were visiting Perth and welcome us as family. You have taught us to appreciate things in life which no monies or power can buy. It comes from the heart and belief that God is our protector and redeemer.
Like us, my mother is deeply saddened and coming to grips with this. Time will heal our pain. We take comfort that you are now in Heaven free from pain, and suffering of this world.
We deeply miss you and are deeply grateful for all of the things you have done for us.
May You Rest in Peace in Heaven and the Eternal Light of Christ shine upon you and your family.

Our deepest condolences to all of you on Uncle Dominic's passing. He has been a wonderful Uncle to all of us cousins and we are deeply saddened. We take comfort that he has been called home by the Lord and will cherish all memories of him in our hearts.
Dearest Uncle Dominic,
Thank you for being a generous, jovial and kind Uncle to all of us.
I will always remember you for sharing your life in the UK (using slide projector) at Anak Gasing when I was a kid. It was an eye-opener for us.
We had a great time when you visited Hong Kong with Poh. It was the start of our many dim sum meals that we have together. Will always remember our last meal together in Dec 2019.
You put up a good fight in your illness and as a doctor and your nephew, really proud of you.
May You Rest in Peace in Heaven and the Eternal Light of Christ shine upon you.

Dear Greg and Family, deepest heartfelt condolences from us to you for your loss. We are not assured tomorrow but we are assured grace and a place in paradise where every tear will be wiped away.
Uncle Kar Teng was one of the (few) uncles who always had a smile on his face - cheerful, jovial. The last time I saw him was when he visited us here in Melbourne, and he was really happy I made him 2 coffees! Aunty Maryann, Greg, Poh Lin, Jo Lin, please accept our condolences. Uncle Kar Teng found his purpose and became an instrument of the Lord especially in our Chew family. Like how I think the Lord needed to send Himself as a human to convince us, I think He also knew the Chews needed a Chew to lead the way :) He has been a real blessing to all of us. Hope to catch up with all of you in Perth when lockdown lifts.
"Those we love can never be more than a thought away, for as long as there's a memory, they live in our hearts to stay".
Our hearts and thoughts remain with you as you mourn.
In deepest sympathies and condolences from aunty and Daniel.
May Perpetual Light Shine upon His Soul and may He Rest in Peace. Amen.
Please accept our sincere condolences. We pray that our Lord blesses and comforts you and your family during this time of grief.
May holy Mary, the angels and all the saints welcome Kar Teng now that he has gone forth from this Life....

Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord & may your perpetual light shine on him.
Dearest Greg and Family,

May you take comfort in knowing that he’s home and waiting till you meet once again.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Kar Teng, he was such a good man and although it has been such a long time since I have seen you all, I remember you all and him so well from when I was younger.

Dearest Aunty Maryann, Greg, Poh Lin & Jo Lin,
Our deepest condolences on the passing of Uncle Kar Teng. I was only a wee kid when you guys moved to Perth but I have 2 memories - one of Uncle KT and Aunty M at the Pudu office (right outside my Dad's room) just chatting and about to pack up and go home for the night and the other in Perth, in your house, one Winter hanging out in the living room after dinner. Uncle KT, may you rest in peace in God's love and frolick in Heaven, eating all the Char Koay Teow (add duck egg please!), Hainanese Chicken Rice, Curry Laksa, Rojak and everything else in between, running free.
You have 3 wonderfully brought up kids. Greg has a great sense of humour :) A job well done here on Earth. Now, time to kick-back, chill and enjoy
PS: I can still remember the sound of your voice

Dear Greg, Auntie and whole family. I am sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Kar Teng. I've always remembered fondly of the years when we were studying in Uni. Edmund, Shawn, Damien and I will be over at your place. And I recalled having so much fun listening to the stories from Uncle Kar Teng. Dearest Greg and family, our deepest condolences on the passing of Uncle Kar Teng. I have never forgotten how your dad and family made me feel very welcome in his house in OUG and Perth. So much so that I had always looked for any opportunity to go over and stay, even if it was for a few hours. Though he was strict, he let us be. He was kind and generous to everyone and in everything he did.
"The ones we love are never gone, they live within our hearts."
So, cheers to Uncle Kar Teng for touching everyone around him with love and a wonderful life well lived. May God bless him eternally.❤️🙏
Thank you for all the love and advice over the years, dad.
We will really miss you down here, but you will always be in our memories and prayers.
Till we meet again. xx
