Ian Wilson Laverick 19 June 1965 – 8 April 2025

RIP Ian Laverick. One of the first doormen I ever worked with, he took me under his wing and we trained together doing judo, lifting weights, pad work, and we were great drinking buddies! When I first met him in my late teens he was a real inspiration to my training, he would often perform 1000 pushups daily on top of judo and weight lifting. As we grew up, left uni, got proper jobs etc. we went to engagement parties, smoked cigars at each others weddings, we were godfathers to each others children! He was a true gentleman in all the right ways, a really good soul, a carpenter par excellence and an all round devoted family man. His family are a credit to him and Claire! They’ve done an amazing job. I’ll miss you my mate. No more pain though, sleep well Ian. Rest in Power…

I worked with Ian for a couple of years as a doorman and also when Ian was production manager. Skilled at judo and as strong as an ox but a gentle giant. We were close friends during this time. I lovely bloke. As happens in life we were rarely in contact over the last 20 years but gutted to find out he's gone. No doubt the world was a better place when he was here. Best wishes to his family.

Ian is my brother. I have so many happy memories of him, from me pinching from his money box, I got caught and he had a little red book to mark off money as I paid him back…..although I never paid it all off and sitting at the top of the stairs on Christmas mornings and Dad shouting up ‘ he hasn’t been’ and us both fighting to see who could get down the stairs first! Ian always looked out for me and it’s brilliant going clubbing when your brother is the doorman! He was amazing although terrible at remembering birthdays and he would be the first to admit it, he was kind and caring we have had so many laughs, good times and special moments throughout our lives. I am very proud to call him my brother, I love him very much and he will be forever in my heart 💙
