To Linda, Matthew & Simon & Family It's a sad day when we don't hear his voice, chatter & sharp-witted humour. But those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. Not visually or heard, but always nearby. Still loved and missed and close to our hearts. Our thoughts are forever with you all and Dave. Cameron, Carol, Michael, Flynn & Erin XXXXX

David you were the classic strong silent type. You loved your family passionately and they loved you back in equal measure. Your friendly hand waves as we passed by while you were in the garden or tinkering with your car spoke volumes about friendship. Rest up and enjoy the next stage of your life in the Land of Mysteries.

Dearest Dave, always so kind and friendly, the very best of people and someone whose impact on my life will never be forgotten. When I was in Australia, you gave me a home, lifts, advice, and everything I could ever have needed and I am so sorry I couldn’t make it work but everything good that came from it, you were involved in and I hope you had some idea how much it all meant to me. It’s actually hard to believe but until we see each other again, take care mate and god bless you. Your amazing family are the greatest tribute possible. Love from Eamonn and family 💙

We were always pleased to see David on his visits to the UK. He always made sure to visit his cousins Eileen (my mum) and Michael on his travels. He was so bright, positive and full of life, and it was with great sadness that we heard the news of his passing.

David was my mum's cousin.(Eileen Pilkington) as well as my uncle Michael and uncle Dennis's cousin (Tidy). He always had time for me, seeking me out and taking me for a few beers when I lived in Perth Australia when I was a youngster. I was honoured to do the same when he stayed in Poole not many years ago. I'll always remember his positive attitude, his sense of humour, his importance of family and last but not least his huge, broad smile thst he always carried.

In Loving Memory of Uncle Dave We're heartbroken to say goodbye to Uncle Dave-a kind, generous soul with a warm laugh and a heart full of stories. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, always ready with a joke or a helping hand. His spirit will live on in the memories we share, the values he passed down, and the love he gave so freely. We will miss him deeply, but we're grateful for every moment we had. Rest peacefully, Uncle Dave. You will always be with us . Love Coralie ❤️ Love Chris 🙏

Dave (DJ) and I first met over 50 years ago when we worked together for Qantas in Melbourne. Dave then transferred to Perth and I to Cairns. Despite being on opposite sides of the continent our friendship endured for decades, with the occasional family visits and holiday meets overseas. I will remember Dave as a good and loyal friend who always made the effort to stay in touch. Phone calls or messages reminiscing about the good old days of Qantas and news of mutual friends. Above all, Dave was a great Dad, so proud of his boys Mathew and Simon, both of whom he guided to become successful in every aspect of their lives. Rest in peace DJ, I shall miss you. Our deepest condolences to Linda, Mathew and Simon, With our love Alan (AJ), Heather, Toby & Joanne.

With your passing this has left a big hole in our hearts, still waiting for you to send me snippets from BBC News which were often out of date but we are grateful for you introducing us to the internet, trans-continental travel, cruising and that thing called What's App which at times has been the bain of my life with you having to text Mary to tell me I have a message. You and Linda certainly ensured that we really enjoyed our times in Australia. With your attitude to life was much similar to my father who was always making friends and like yourself and would do your utmost to find somebody from their past. Still waiting for your face to pop up on the computer wanting a chat. Love to you Linda and the boys and their families.
