Hello Addy, you were and are and always will be our best friend. The Lord in heaven has gained a wonderful angel in you. We will miss you very much here on earth and it hurts our hearts that you are no longer with us. But one day we will be together again. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to you. We love you. Yours, Michi and Thomas

Sadly my Grandad passed away in Perth, Australia. He fell ill in Bali, where he lived for the last 15 years or so living his best life. Beer on tap! Luckily my amazing family managed to fly him back to Perth in time for family and friends to be by his bedside when he eventually passed. I always look back on my childhood in Australia where I cherished every moment I spent with him. My grandad and my nan used to work in the mines and I always used to look forward to them coming home and taking me McDonalds for breakfast. When he was home from the Mines, he used to sit at his bar with a beer reading The Times word for word (Literally) even the stocks and shares which was his favourite section. I remember the first time remembering the smell of aftershave. He used to wear Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent. Used to burn my nostrils! He used to visit us in Warrington and I remember one time taking him the bookies. He pulled a fat wad of fresh £50s out of his leather boots and bet on horses he knew nothing about. 13:45 races and he’d be putting £50 and horses and then gone 😂 One year I then went Bali and surprised him on his 80th birthday. He had no idea I was flying over from the UK. It was nice to seem him settled and even had his own name above the corner of the bar he used to drink at. He loved Bali. He used to tell me stories of him traveling the world in his late teens/ early 20’s. He could have written a novel with all the places he’d travelled. He was one of the most kindest, genuine and wisest men I’ve ever met and he made a big impression on my life and that will always stay with me. Love you Addy x
