I only met Ian a few times when visiting his daughter Susan, who is my neighbour. He very kindly installed a handrail on the stairs outside my apartment for my parents to use when visiting. He had a warmth and kindness about him that was evident as soon as I met him, and I could see why Susan loved him so much. I know that in some way he will always be with her.
